Champion in the Making: Race with Leonidas on the "Road to MotoGP"

As the 2025 racing season approaches this spring on the world stage, we are facing challenges in funding it on our own. The championship, the FIM JuniorGP European Talent Cup, is an important step in Leonidas’ racing development, where many renowned MotoGP World Champions, such as Pecco Bagnaia, Marc Márquez, Pedro Acosta, and others, raced during their formative years. As exciting as it is that Leonidas is finally ready to race in a prestigious international championship after years of competing in national championships abroad, this new chapter is not sustainable without support and sponsorship.

Currently, racing at the highest level and what is known as the “Road to MotoGP” in youth categories costs, on average, €70.000–€100.000 per year. This includes 7 events at world circuits in Spain, Italy, Portugal, and France. However, this does not cover tests, travel expenses, licenses, gear, and training, which are covered by Leonidas’ parents. Below are the 3 Ts (Tires, Training, and Travel) of racing, which clarify what an elite athlete must face in preparation for and participation in top-level racing.

At the moment, the minimum goal is to raise €40,000. This will help Leonidas race in the entire ETC championship. Simply click on the “Donate” button. Any amount is appreciated and will go a long way. Leonidas cannot wait to share his racing experiences with you and thanks you for your support!

If you’re unable to donate right away, donations are welcome throughout the 2025 racing season.

Thank you for supporting Leonidas’ “road to MotoGP” journey!

Tires allow racers to push the limits safely. Each set of slicks typically costs €350 per pair. On average, three sets of tires are used per race weekend, conservatively. Additionally, training sessions require a set of tires either biweekly or daily, depending on the size of the track, type of motorcycle, brand/size of tire, and frequency of training. Over the course of one year, the bare minimum budget is €11,000.

Consistent training is imperative for top athletes in general, and racing is no exception. It is vital for both the mind and body during the off-season as well as the racing season. Furthermore, there are no substitutes for proper motorcycle training, and no shortcuts exist. On a weekly basis, Leonidas trains hard to be a high-performing racer through various activities, including cycling, strength conditioning, and road/dirt motorcycle training.

Traveling to distant tracks, whether for training or racing, is a costly endeavor. Expenses can add up exponentially for each trip, including fuel, tolls, storage of the race bike, lodging, and meals. On average, four nights of lodging for a race weekend can cost €400, in addition to other travel expenses for Leonidas’ team of professionals who maintain his motorcycle on-site in case of any malfunction or crash—a safety essential for a high-risk sport.
